The best time to visit Egypt
October to April brings comfortable days for the temples, while the Red Sea stays warm all year. Here is how the seasons actually feel.
Egypt has two useful seasons rather than four.
From October to April the Nile Valley is comfortable for walking the temples, with daytime highs in the twenties and cool evenings. This is peak season, so book early for Luxor and Aswan.
From May to September the south becomes very hot, but the Red Sea coast stays pleasant thanks to the sea breeze, and prices soften. Diving is excellent year-round.
If you want both the monuments and the coast, aim for late October or early March.
