Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Luxor Airport, Coralon representatives will welcome you. You will meet your professional tour guide and explore Luxor's iconic West Bank. You will visit the breathtaking Valley of the Kings. You will see the enchanting tombs, designed as ritual journeys rather than typical burial chambers. Their impressive corridors and rooms contain stunning religious texts, representations of gods, dazzling celestial imagery, and scenes intended to assist the deceased king on his journey through the afterlife.

You will visit the stunning Temple of Hatshepsut; although it is a mortuary temple dedicated to her, it features impressive shrines and sections dedicated to the god Amun, her famous father, King Thutmose I, the goddess Hathor, and Anubis—the god of mummification—as well as an open-air shrine to the sun god revered by the ancient Egyptians.

You will see the incredible Colossi of Memnon, which are two enormous seated statues of the famous Amenhotep III. The ancient Greek name “Memnon” reflects a later identification of the northern statue with the famous legendary Greek hero Memnon. This illustrates how the spectacular ancient Egyptian monuments continued to acquire new important meanings as later civilizations encountered them.

Your last stop today will be the magnificent Karnak Temple. The construction of this magnificent complex spanned more than 2,000 years, with over 30 renowned pharaohs contributing to its building and development throughout history. Actual construction of this majestic complex began during the Middle Kingdom—under the 11th Dynasty—and significant additions and expansions continued through the Greco-Roman era.

After this informative sightseeing tour, return to the Amoura Dahabiya and enjoy your meals while the vessel begins its smooth journey south.
