Upon arrival at Luxor Airport, you will meet a Coralon Travel Professional Tour guide to begin your exceptional tour today. You will be transferred by a private, air-conditioned vehicle to the East Bank to enjoy exploring the ancient city of Thebes, once one of the most influential and famous religious centers of ancient Egypt.
You will visit the majestic Karnak Temple, the construction and expansion of which spanned more than 2,000 years. It was first established during the renowned Middle Kingdom—around 2055 BC, under the reign of King Intef II or Senusret I—and continued to see significant additions and modifications well into the subsequent Ptolemaic and Roman periods.
You will also see the magnificent Luxor Temple, which was built with the contributions of many great kings and queens. Before the current temple was constructed, there stood a distinct sanctuary dating back to the Middle Kingdom, built by the renowned Queen Hatshepsut. It featured three shrines, each dedicated to one of the three sacred barques: the first housed a beautiful statue of the god Amun, the second a statue of the goddess Mut, and the third a statue of the god Khonsu. Furthermore, the young and powerful King Tutankhamun placed two colossal statues—depicting himself and his wife—at the second entrance of the Luxor Temple. Later, King Horemheb inscribed his own achievements within the grand ceremonial hall that he constructed during the latter part of the Eighteenth Dynasty.
After your enjoyable sightseeing, we will transfer you to your Nile cruise ship, complete a quick embarkation, and settle into your cabin. Enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner on board and watch the riverside scenery as your exciting adventure begins.
