Itinerary

In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza for this cultural and religious experience. You will meet your professional tour guide and private driver, who will take you to the well-known Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, one of Cairo's most important archaeological institutions. Its impressive collection covers an enormous and important span of Egyptian history, from prehistoric periods through the famous Greco-Roman era. Inside it, you will find many unique statues, jewelry, coffins, papyri, unique funerary objects, and artifacts representing thousands of years of Egyptian civilization.

You will visit one of Cairo’s most important Islamic landmarks: Saladin’s Citadel, which is considered one of the most famous and impregnable fortresses of all time, having protected Egypt from numerous enemy attacks. Its skyline is now dominated by the breathtaking Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as the Alabaster Mosque for its unique alabaster-clad walls, built after Muhammad Ali Pasha demolished much of the earlier, more impressive Mamluk-era construction and rebuilt the site in the beautiful Ottoman style. Your tour guide will take you to enjoy a yummy lunch at a local restaurant.

Start your Coptic Cairo adventure by visiting the Hanging Church. This magnificent church is traditionally associated with the early Christian heritage of Cairo and was built above the remains of one of the ancient and most famous Roman fortress structures of Babylon. You will visit the holy Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus, which is commonly known as Abu Serga. The Holy Family took refuge in this church during their journey to Egypt as they fled Herod's tyranny.

Your last stop will be the famous Ben Ezra Synagogue, which occupies a building that started as a Coptic church before Cairo's Jewish community purchased and converted it in 882 CE. Its unique geniza was found to hold roughly 400,000 Hebrew, Aramaic, and Judeo-Arabic manuscript fragments spanning the 11th to 19th centuries. After finishing this enjoyable tour, we will transfer you back to your hotel.
